The Catholic Dimension will be running a recurring series called Messages Worth Mentioning which addresses current world situations and provides a point from which to meditate on them as Catholics.

Lord,

We have entered into turbulent times in our world. Economically we are being challenged on a daily basis and many of us face constant and real struggles in regard to our finances.
Help us to come to the realization that we are not alone in these struggles; help us to remember that while our struggle seems to be common you are with us constantly.
As we work to overcome the obstacles that we face let us take time to reflect on the true meaning of wealth. It is easy for us, Lord, to get caught up in the idea that wealth exists in a material realm and we begin to focus on our assets - what we have and what we don't have.
Be in our hearts Lord as we move away from the pressures of the material world.
Be in our minds as we discern the true riches of our world. We dwell in the wisdom that you have established in us, and it is upon your wisdom that we have our foundation.
Let us use the riches of your wisdom to fill our own lives with lasting treasures that will transcend contemporary crises and leave us fulfilled in the security of our lives with you.
